Post  Devotee #1 on 25th April 2009, 00:04

THE SHINING FUTURE was a 20 minute film made in 1944 by Warner Brothers to promote the sale of Canadian 6th Victory War Loan (War Bonds). It was produced by Gordon Hollingshead and Arnold Albert. The director was LeRoy Prinz and the screenplay was written by James Bloodworth. The film features a family who are living in the future (1960) and through the invention of television can see "old" programs. The family watch recordings of film stars such as Deanna Durbin who sings Begin The Beguine from the movie HERS TO HOLD. The original film was two reels, but was later cut to one reel. It was renamed THE ROAD TO VICTORY deleting Deanna Durbin's brilliant performance.
